Green screening @ WCCHZ Libraries: Home

This guide explains the green screening facilities available in the main library at Wellington College Hangzhou, along with some tips on how to make the best of them.

Green screens in WCCHZ Main Library

The WCCHZ Main Library (building A, 1st floor) has five green screens that can be lowered from the ceiling. Four of these are around 4.5m in width, and one is around 6.7m wide. All of them are floor to ceiling in height.

In order to use the green screens, please book the rooms through Outlook.

  • WCCH-HSH-AG144 (4.5m)
  • WCCH-HSH-AG145 (4.5m)
  • WCCH-HSH-AG150 (4.5m)
  • WCCH-HSH-AG152 (6.7m)
  • WCCH-HSH-AG148 (4.5m, but not bookable through Outlook. Please discuss with Director of Libraries if this room is needed.)

Operation

The green screens can be operated using the remote control. Each green screen has a different remote control. The remote controls are labelled with the room numbers.

Software

Various green screening apps are available. Do Ink is popular and easy for children to use. This app costs money. If you would like it installed on your department iPads, you will need to discuss this with IT and budget holders.

It is also possible to use green screens directly in iMovie, which is pre-installed on iPads. This is a little more complex than Do Ink, but is easy enough once you have learnt. You can use the Apple support guide here to help.
